Yes, designer faces real challenge when to knock out the back ground of a complex object with furry, smoky or zigzag edge. Amateur’s Lasso or Magic Wand fails to do it. Channel Masking is a Raster Masking involves Photoshop masking techniques with CMYK, RGB, and various other custom channels. Channel masking bring the best result in semi-transparent, feathered and blurry images like hairs, fur, feathers, smoke, flames, firework, lighting etc. With Channel Masking, you can mask the selected object and make a silhouette or sunset effect within a few minutes. Or you can remove the background and place the selected object on a new background convincingly. Sometimes Channel Masking alone may not be sufficient to make a finest output. The other advantage of Channel Masking is selection saving. Channel masking is also handy for color separation, color correction etc.
